The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos is pleased to announce the annual call for applications for the 2021-2022 Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program.
TEA is a six-week professional development program for outstanding secondary-level teachers, preferably in public schools in Nigeria. Selected teachers will travel to the United States and participate in either of two cohorts at a U.S. university, Spring (January 2022) or Fall (September 2022).
TEA is a program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by IREX, a U.S. based NGO and the Public Affairs Sections of the U.S. Mission in Nigeria.
Application Deadline: The STRICT deadline for submitting online applications with supplemental documents uploaded as part of the applications is Friday, April 2, 2021.
Teachers development is a continuation process and every career teacher must continue to develop him or herself in order to be equipped with the recent needed skills in teaching field.
We also encourage government at all levels and private organizations to sponsor teachers in different teaching development including technology applications in education as this will go a long way in nation building.
