Pat Ugwu II


Mr. Patrick Chigoziri Ugwu De Second or Pat Ugwu II (a.k.a. ‘Akanne’ bu Ogwu) was born to Mr. Patrick Umeha Ugwu and Mrs. Veronica Uzoaku Ugwu (Nee Ugwu) in Ebe, in Udi Local Government of Enugu State.

Pat as he is fondly called is a kindhearted man who strongly believes in Christian principles and doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church. He likes to offer help to humanity in his capacity especially in technology education. He is married with kids.


Pat Ugwu II started  his primary education at Central School Ebe in 1987 and continued at Iva-Valley Primary School Enugu which he completed in 1993. His secondary education was at Community Secondary School Enugu and finished in the year 1999.

He gained admission for higher education in OSISATECH Polytechni Enugu in year 2005. He completed National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in 2010. Later, he did a degree programme with Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) which he completed in 2013. He is currently undergoing a postgraduate (M.Sc) programme in the same school.

Pat started his career in the year 2000, a year after his secondary school in motorcycle parts trade, he started the business in 2002 but quit it a year after to pursue academic ventures. After graduation, Pat started computer training school in 2010 and was doing well before he was employed by his alumni school OSISATECH Poly as an ICT officer in 2011 based on the recommendation of one of his lecturers. He worked as a database admin in exams and records department and was later given some courses to teach in the department of computer science as a Graduate Assistant.

In 2016, Pat was appointed as the Ag. HOD, Computer Education in OSISATECH College of Education Enugu. In 2019, he became an Education Officer to Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.

He also has an online business known as Akanne. Akanne EduTech Organisation, a non-governmental educational technology organisation that promotes the use of edtech in Africa. This site has other sub-sites; Akanne Blog which is an edtech blog; and Akanne Academy which is a free online courses.

Pat believes that “the meaning of life is to give life meaning”. He agrees with Igbo adage that says “live and let live”.
